Penske selects Briscoe to replace Hornish Jr.

11/12/2007 - Indianapolis, IN (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Ryan Briscoe has been signed to replace three-time IndyCar Series champion Sam Hornish Jr in the No.6 Team Penske Honda. Briscoe joins two-time Indianapolis 500 winner Helio Castroneves on Penske's two-car.

"The IndyCar Series is where I really wanted to be next year," said Briscoe.

Briscoe earned three top-10 finishes in 15 races with Target Chip Ganassi Racing in 2005, including a pole at Infineon Raceway. He also started four races for Dreyer & Reinbold in 2006.

Hornish Jr. will drive in the NASCAR Nextel Cup for 2008 as a third team in Roger Penske's NASCAR stable along with Kurt Busch and Ryan Newman.
